Dignity of Hazrat Muhammad (Sm)
Allah the Magnificent had sent Hazrat Rasul (Sm) to the human society to rescue offenders from the sea of sins and show the strayed people the right path. It means, it was done to help people establish deep faith in Allah and Rasul (Sm). So, to be a mu'meen, everybody has to say 'Kalema-e- Taiyeba' and he has to have firm faith in his heart that there is none but Allah to be worshipped and Muhammad (Sm) is His rasul sent to the earth. Those, who lay faith in Rasul (Sm) and follow the Code given to him, are the real mu'meen. They love Prophet (Sm) more than their lives and parents. The glorious example is his Sahaba-e-Keram (Ra).
In this regard Allah in the holy Qur'an says, "To the mumeen the prophet is greater than their lives." (Sura Ahzab, verse 6).
Rasul (Sm) is dearer than the lives of the mu'meen. Regarding this Hazrat Rasul (Sm) says, "The person, who will not love me more than his parents, children and all other men, can't be a mumeen." (Bokhari Sharif and Muslim Sharif).
To follow Rasul (Sm) and respect him more than all the creations are necessary for us. It is the responsibility of a mu'meen to love Rasul (Sm) more than his parents and follow his instruction more than that of them. It happened to Hazrat Ali (Karramullah Wazhur).
Once Hazrat Ali (Ra) was going with Rasul (Sm). It came to his father Abu Talib's notice. He called his son to approach him. He wanted to warn Ali (Ra) for not to travel all the time with Rasul (Sm). At this Ali (Ra) stopped there. Hazrat Rasul (Sm) also stood having approached Abu Talib. He waited for some time to listen if he said anything to his son. Then Ali (Ra) moved to Rasul (Sm) having not gone to his father.
At this Rasul (Sm) asked: O Ali! Why have you come to me not going to your father? Ali (Ra) replied: O Rasulullah! I am a companion of the Great Prophet (Sm). My father has called me.
Can I respond to his call leaving my respected Prophet? O Rasulullah! I have thought that if I respond to my father's call, it would be tantamount to neglecting my esteemed Prophet and he would be hurt. If the Rasul (Sm) becomes sad, Allah will be displeased with me. As a result my belief will be destroyed. That is why I have come to you. Have I committed any wrong? At this
Rasul (Sm) said: Ali! You have done a good deed. Abu Talib felt shame at the behaviour of his son and said to him: Ali! Muhammad is very good man. You will always remain with him. Though Hazrat Ali (Ra) was then a boy of 9 or 10 years, he had a profound love and respect for Hazrat Rasul (Sm). He was much obedient follower of him. In this regard Allah in the holy Qur'an says, "(O dear friend!) Say, if you love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your offence. Allah is Forgiving, very Kind." (Sura Ale Imran, verse 31). One who will love Prophet (Sm) and be his friend, he (Prophet) will also be his friend. Therefore, the poet says, "He, who has attained Rasul (Sm), has attained Iman (belief) and Allah." If one wants to attain Allah, he has to be mu'meen first by creating belief in his heart. And if he wants to be a believer, the condition is that he has to create love for Rasul-e-Karim (Sm) in his heart. The poet again says, "One, whose heart doesn't have love for Rasul-e-Khoda, he will not be a mu'meen despite his claims to be it for thousand times." The more an ashek (lover) remembers his mashuk (beloved) the more love grows in his heart. The more a mu'meen remembers the holy name of Rasul (Sm) the more grows the noor of Iman in his heart and he will feel peace there. Regarding this the poet says, "Only his holy name can give peace in a restless heart. Is there any name dearer to Allah than the holy name of the Great Prophet (Sm)?" The poet further says, "We are unable to understand or know the mystery of Allah and His dearest friend. In reality the friend of Allah has known Him and Allah has known His friend for whom He started the process of creation and bestowed on him the best respect and character." In this regard Allah says, "(O Rasul!) Certainly you are the source of a great man possessing the noble character." (Sura Qalam, verse 4). Hazrat Rasul (Sm) is the model of the best character and virtuous qualities of man. Following his teachings the barbarous Arabs attained the noble character. So, Rasul (Sm) says, "I have been sent as the best teacher." Rasul (Sm) is the imani father of the mu'meen (believers) and teacher of Iman (belief). He has said, "I am the city of learning." As his teacher was Allah Himself, he taught the lessons of attaining and establishing communication with Him. Allah Ta'la has made the mu'meen know how to behave with him (Prophet). The holy Qur'an in this regard says, "O believers! Don't be forward in presence of Allah and His Rasul, and fear Allah. Allah is Hearer and Knower. O believers! Don't raise your voice more than the voice of the Prophet, nor shout when speaking to him as you shout each other. At this your achievement will be in vain without your knowledge. Those who lower their voice in presence of the Rasul of Allah, Allah purifies their hearts for righteousness. For them there are forgiveness and immense reward. Those who call you loudly from behind the private apartments, most of them have no sense. And if they had had patience till you came out to them, it had been better for them. Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (Sura Hujurat, verses 1-5). Through these verses Allah is making men careful of their behaviour with Hazrat Rasul (Sm) in regard to talking and accompanying him so that they do not become forward in his presence. None should speak loudly with him lest he is saddened. If the Prophet feels pain by anybody's act, his belief will be damaged and he will turn into a kafir (non- believer). If someone distresses his parents, he will be a sinner, because for the violation of His rule, Allah will be displeased on him. And if anyone troubles His dear friend, his Iman (belief) will be shattered. So, the poet says, "If Allah wants to punish someone for his deeds, Rasul (Sm) will recommend for his release. And if Rasul (Sm) is displeased on anybody there is none to save him." So, one had to be polite in behaving with Rasul (Sm). Calling Rasul (Sm) loudly had been forbidden. When he would be resting, one would have to wait with patience. If Rasul (Sm) is displeased, Allah will also be displeased. Allah had warned everybody against calling him when His friend would be resting. On the other hand, He had instructed all to approach him, even leaving prayers, when he would call anybody. Regarding this Allah says, "O believers! Abide by the call of Allah and His Rasul. Rasul (Sm) calls you for such a thing which will give you life." (Sura Anfal, verse 24).
It is obligatory for all to obey the call coming from the friend of Allah.
